VkusVill — Website Fault Tolerance Improvement
In the spring of 2020, due to the mass lockdown, the demand for online shopping increased dramatically. The Russian healthy food supermarket chain, VkusVill, has also faced a substantial load increase in its online store. The company has approached us with the task to increase the fault tolerance and accessibility of its website.
In five days, SimbirSoft DevOps specialists analyzed the product and identified several problems. In particular, all the components of the site were deployed on one server, which, in case of failure, disrupted its performance.
Following the analysis, our team has formed a plan to modernize the infrastructure of the VkusVill online store completely.
What we did
— Designed and implemented a fault tolerant infrastructure;
— Spread the product components across different servers;
— Implemented the CI/CD process;
— Set up monitoring;
— Provided round-the-clock technical support.
Our approach has improved the system fault tolerance, made the development environment more convenient, and reduced the time-to-market. We continue to work with the company and provide them with round-the-clock technical support.
Result
Improving Fault Tolerance of the Company’s Website.
