Setting up Bitrix24.CRM for an Electronics Online Store

We have been implementing projects using Bitrix24 for nearly 10 years. In September 2022, one of the electronics retailers approached us to configure their order processing system. Here are the details.

Customer and task

The customer's company sells electronic components on their website, such as microchips, power supplies, solar converters, etc. Order requests with component details are created in the Bitrix24 system. Our task was to help the employees of the online store process orders more efficiently through task automation in CRM.

Solution

At the beginning, we defined a list of features based on the customer's requirements, initially without detailed specifications. For effective development, we identified the business process requirements ourselves, determined the desired outcome for each feature, and proposed optimal approaches.

Implemented feature examples

Automatic order status generation

Previously, order statuses had to be changed manually, such as "component order" or "received at the warehouse." Now, this happens automatically when an employee with a specific role in the system accesses the order details page. As a result, the order status is always up-to-date, and the tracking of the processing time for each stage is possible.

Retrieving Information from an External API

If certain parts of an order are out of stock, the system compiles them into a table and sends a request to partner stores through an external API. We also accounted for potential API failures. All product data is stored in the CRM database, enabling faster order processing for subsequent requests.

Displaying found items

We added a visual map to the order card, indicating the location of the requested component in the warehouse. With this visual map, employees spend less time searching for items.

Results

 

All assigned tasks were completed within the specified timeframe of one month. Our customer was satisfied with the speed of feature implementation and our analytical approach to work. We wish the company success and look forward to working together again!
