Creating a VR-Simulator for Training in Preparation for Fireworks at an Industrial Enterprise
We helped create a VR-simulator designed to train employees in handling complex scenarios related to hazardous workplace activities.
Customer
Client: a large industrial company.
Product
The business objective was to create a training product that complies with all the intricate and specific internal security directives of the company.
The development objective was to create a VR-simulator with a scenario that precisely mirrors the logical sequence of actions an employee must follow when preparing a site for hot works.
Task
Developing a VR-simulator that allows users to practice and refine the sequence of actions according to an approved logical framework.
Stages
1) Design and approval of the simulator script and its visual concept (3 days).
2) Prototyping the scenario as part of the simulator mechanics (2 weeks).
3) Creating the simulator scene and the visual components of the entire application—from UI to 3D objects to populate the scene (2 weeks in parallel with the scenario prototyping).
4) Testing and revisions (2 weeks).
Result
The company's personnel engaged in preparing the production site for hot work undergo training and assessment on the VR-simulator prior to being authorized to work independently.
Since this type of work leaves no room for error in real life, the simulator is used to discuss and fix mistakes together with the safety engineer.
